Fall color along the river, string lights in the trees, and a celebration as warm as the golden hour it began in — this wedding at A River House in Grants Pass, Oregon was timeless from start to finish. As a Sonoma County wedding photographer who loves traveling for destination celebrations, I don’t get tired of venues like this one: a private riverside property with a garden ceremony space, a rustic hillside reception area, and views that do half the work for you.
The ceremony took place right along the water, with the wedding party and guests gathered on the lawn for an aerial view I still can’t get over.
Golden hour hit right as the ceremony wrapped, giving us just enough time to sneak away for a few portraits before the reception got underway.
As dusk settled over A River House, string lights came on across the hillside and the neon venue sign lit up the trees — one of my favorite parts of shooting evening destination weddings.
Long tables lined the riverside lawn for a family-style dinner under the string lights, with the sound of the river running just beyond the tables.
